Staff and pupils at our school proved willing and more than able to take part in 'Beat the Teacher’, an event aimed at raising money for Alder Hey Neurological Sciences Dept and the British Heart Foundation.
Organised by Mrs Storey’s GCSE Business Studies class, it was a Teachers v Pupils competition with teams being required to find letters in boxes of baked beans, dance, play musical chairs, hoola hoop and act out film roles. The tie-break was a performance of the Cha Cha Slide. The judges commended the teachers’ willingness to get involved but the winning team was Team Pupil!
A total of £350 was raised and Mrs Storey thanked Ms Anderton, Ms Gimeno, Mr Bellmon, Mr Martin and Mr Taylor for making the event so enjoyable. Abi Burke, who co-hosted the event with Ms Storey, thanked Rebekah Lee, Eve Halliday, Jessica Coughlin, Faye Lennox and Cole Arnold for being so willing to take on the might of Team Teacher!
