Special Education Needs
Mrs L Davidson and Mr J Daley are the governors with responsibility for Special Educational Needs. Mrs L Lyon is acting as the school’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.
St. Hilda’s has a comprehensive intake of pupils which includes girls from a range of cultures and with a range of academic abilities. This is a caring school where our pupils are provided with a broad and balanced curriculum and are encouraged to achieve their potential.
SEN provision in St. Hilda’s is implemented and monitored by the SENCO. The aims of the SEN Department are guided by the SEN Code of Practice.
For any pupils who are experiencing difficulties, our Teaching Assistants are on hand to provide extra support and assistance during lesson times, and our Learning Mentor is available for those who need guidance.
Some of our pupils come from as far away as Ghana, China and Russia. Our vibrant English as an Additional Language Club has been great fun. We have learned to play games from around the world and have been fortunate enough to have had African Dance lessons.
